Honduras 1, Sante Fe
Honduras is one of the poorest countries in Latin America – more than half of the population lives in poverty. The country has one of the world’s highest murder rates and is frequently affected by natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and floods. While the educational system has improved in recent years regarding primary education, access to secondary education is still very precarious. The Educational Sector Plan addresses this issue and aims to transform the school system. Still, this project aims to contribute to better schooling materials for the students at Santa Fe school directly.

GRANT AMOUNT REQUEST
Pen Paper Peace e.V.
Currently, the school possesses some material for its science lab, but school teachers have frequently voiced the need for better equipment in order to teach, experiment, and learn in the exact sciences. Therefore, this project includes purchasing the following components:
- One monocular microscope
- One binocular microscope
- One scale
- Glassware: flasks, test glasses, etc.
Currently, around 170 students attend Rancho Santa Fe from first to ninth grade. There are 28 teachers, including grade teachers, special teachers, administrative personnel and educational stimulation personnel. All these students and staff will benefit directly from the new science lab, but particular attention is paid to the empowerment of girls, who are generally underrepresented in the exact sciences.
