The state of education in Argentina is concerning, and this inconsistency extends to Saltos de Moconá. A significant portion of the native indigenous population has never had access to education. This holds true for communities like the MBYA ethnic group residing in what’s recognized today as the Saltos del Moconá National Park. Presently, access to education within the community remains a significant constraint.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
The “La Misión” project aims to construct a community school in the specific region of Saltos de Moconá, situated in northeastern Argentina, in collaboration with the indigenous MBYA community. By primarily utilizing ecological materials sourced from the area, the goal is to engage the inhabitants in the construction process. Sharing construction knowledge empowers them to participate in future building endeavors, potentially including the construction of their own eco-friendly homes. Active involvement in every phase of constructing their forthcoming school fosters an atmosphere of self-sufficiency, respect, and well-being.
The project’s objective is to create a 70m2 ecological community school featuring three classrooms and a library, catering to 50 children, pre-adolescents, and young individuals. Subsequently, the presence of the school is likely to prompt more distant communities to relocate closer to access educational opportunities.
