The existing school building in Kinshasha, the capital of the DR Congo, was started in 2008 by a local aid organization for the neighboring orphanage. Unfortunately they ran out of money at some point and the school was never further built.
Because of that more than 250 children (grades 1-6) had to be taught in a shell of a building. This did not only lead to extreme safety and health risks but also made learning very difficult for the children. The construction work and classrooms were in desperate need to finally be completed.
The 10 new classrooms allow the children to learn in a proper and safe environment.
