About Groundbreaker Talents

Groundbreaker Talents supports young women in Uganda in building sustainable careers in the digital economy. Through our fully funded, one-year residential program, Talents receive Software & AI training alongside mentorship, personal development, and career support to prepare them for employment in the technology sector.

We are looking for an experienced Personal Development Facilitator to help our Talents develop the professional skills, confidence, and workplace readiness they need to secure and thrive in employment.

About the Role

The Personal Development Facilitator will design and deliver personal development, soft-skills, employability, and work-readiness training for young women aged 18–30.

You will facilitate practical learning sessions, coach Talents individually, assess their progress, and work closely with our Placements team to prepare them for recruitment processes and the transition into employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and continuously improve structured personal development, soft-skills, employability, and work-readiness modules.
  
• Facilitate interactive workshops, exercises, role plays, simulations, group discussions, and one-on-one coaching.
  
• Build skills including communication, teamwork, emotional intelligence, confidence, critical thinking, problem-solving, adaptability, time management, leadership, professionalism, and accountability.
  
• Prepare Talents for employment through CV and LinkedIn development, personal branding, networking, job applications, interview preparation, and workplace communication.
  
• Organise mock interviews, presentations, assessment exercises, and workplace simulations.
  
• Assess individual strengths and development needs and create personalised development plans where additional support is required.
  
• Develop and implement a structured placement-readiness assessment covering professional behaviour, communication, confidence, and employability.
  
• Provide individual coaching and constructive feedback.
  
• Collaborate with the Placements team to incorporate employer expectations and feedback into training.
  
• Support employer engagements, career talks, mentorship activities, and mock interviews.
  
• Track attendance, assessments, development plans, and placement readiness.
  
• Use feedback from Talents, employers, mentors, and colleagues to continuously improve the curriculum.
  

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Education, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Organisational Development, Communications, or a related field.
  
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in training, facilitation, HR, talent development, employability, career development, coaching, organisational development, or a related field.
  
• Proven experience designing and delivering soft-skills, employability, personal development, or professional-development training.
  
• Experience developing training modules, lesson plans, learning activities, and assessment tools.
  
• Strong understanding of workplace expectations, recruitment processes, and employability skills.
  
• Experience supporting CV development, interview preparation, job-search strategies, or career development.
  
• Experience coaching, mentoring, or supporting young adults, graduates, students, or early-career professionals.
  
• Excellent facilitation, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  
• Strong emotional intelligence, empathy, organisation, and ability to provide constructive feedback.
  
• Cultural sensitivity and commitment to diversity and inclusion.
  

Experience working with employers or recruitment teams and professional certification in Training & Development, Coaching, HR, Learning & Development, or Career Development are an advantage.
